Logging Festival

The Logging Festival takes place over Labor Day
Weekend. This is a very historical festival for Newaygo. Newaygo was built
around the logging industry; therefore this is a very historical event. During
this Festival, there is an Arts & Crafts show in Brooks Park. Exhibitors
come from all over the country to setup booths to display their arts and crafts.
The local merchants have sidewalk sales. The event also includes several logging
events, kids activities, and chainsaw log carving take place over the weekend
and on Sunday, a parade route goes through downtown Newaygo. You can also find a
BINGO tent and Chicken BBQ in the park over the weekend. Click Here for a
Schedule of Events and our Logging Festival Page.
Holiday Fest

To begin our Holiday Fest, the
Newaygo Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors an Annual Holiday Auction. Chamber and
community members donate items such as: decorated Christmas Trees, decorated
wreaths, gift certificates, gift baskets, table settings, and much more to be
auctioned off. Be sure to head downtown for the Annual Christmas Walk. The Walk
begins with the lighting of the Tree of Hope, decorated by the children of the
Newaygo elementary schools. You will find M-37 closed and horse drawn wagons
carrying people down the streets. Santa is sure to make a visit for pictures at
Independent Bank, chestnuts will be roasting on an open fire in front of
Sportsman's' Bar & Grill, and the street
corners will be lined with carolers. The local merchants will offer many treats
and door prizes.
